Loretta Lynn’s family is mourning the loss of her granddaughter, Lynn Massey. Loretta’s official Facebook and Instagram pages shared the news of Lynn’s death, saying she passed away after a long struggle with health issues.
The posts included a photo of Lynn, who was 59, smiling in front of shelves with her grandmother’s vinyl albums. Lynn was Loretta’s first grandchild and was born 11 months after Loretta’s youngest twins, Peggy and Patsy.
Chad Gallagher, a representative for the Lynn family, told USA TODAY that Lynn Massey died on August 20.
Loretta Lynn, known as a country music legend, passed away in October 2022 at the age of 90. She had requested to be buried next to her husband, Oliver “Doolittle” Vanetta. Loretta had 26 grandchildren, including Emmy Russell, who competed on American Idol this year.
Loretta’s eldest child and Lynn’s mother, Betty Sue, passed away in 2013 from emphysema.
