Valerie Bertinelli, who previously made it obvious that she was off the market, has stated that she has found a new boyfriend on Instagram, following the heartbreak of her past engagements.
The 63-year-old made things official on Instagram last Friday by captioning a selfie with lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song So High School, which is purportedly about the music star’s current boyfriend Travis Kelce. The post was made two years after the singer’s divorce from her ex-husband Tom Vitale and four years after the passing of her first husband, Eddie Van Halen.
“🎶 I’ll drink what you think and I’m high from smokin’ your jokes all damn night 🎶” In the caption of the post, Bertinelli wrote.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Valerie has found love with writer Mike Goodnough, who runs a well-liked blog known as the Hoarse Whisperer.
Actress and TV personality Bertinelli started a rumour mill earlier this month when she told USA TODAY, “I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him.
“It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man. I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him. I was going to die with my six cats and my dog and be incredibly happy doing it.”
In an essay titled “Rumours, Rumours, Rumours…”, Goodnough acknowledged on his Substack this week that the rumours he was dating Bertinelli were accurate. He humorously revealed in the article that he had inquired of “Ms. Bertinelli” in a “reporterly voice” as to if there was “any truth to the rumour you are dating me? Would you like to comment?
He added: “She said ‘It’s true. I totally am. You’re my boyfriend.’”
Recently, Bertinelli talked about her past marriage to Eddie Van Halen in her new cookbook, Indulge.
In the cookbook, which was published on April 12, she said, “Though we got divorced, Ed and I never stopped loving each other.”
Bertinelli added, “Who knows, if not for cancer, we might have had a second wind. I’m pretty sure that is wistful thinking.”
Valerie gave an explanation of how she started following Goodnough on social media in 2016 or 2017, and how he reciprocated in 2018. Eventually, after Valerie and Tom Vitale’s divorce in 2022, the two probably started messaging one another.
She described Goodnough as “a really super funny, incredibly talented writer.”
This month, the actress declared, “I’m in love. It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again.”
We’re glad to see Valerie content, though!
