A firefighter called Pedro Bras posted a picture of firemen in Pedróg Grande, Portugal, lying in the grass on Facebook.
Everyone acknowledges that being a firefighter is an extremely vital career. Recently, I had a fire at home, but the firefighters who came over quickly put it out and saved my life.
The firemen took their work very seriously, as seen in the photo below.
A terrifying forest fire occurred recently in Portugal, and 1150 guys were working nonstop to stop the fire from spreading and put it out.
The fire caused injuries to about twenty-five firefighters.
Portugal had two catastrophic fires in June and October of the previous year, which claimed 114 lives in all.
However, this intriguing picture is not about dead firefighters as it initially seems. It tells the story of firemen who are too tired to operate in dangerous situations and are taking a break in the grass to recharge before returning to work.
“We decided to take a break and relax by the river for a quarter of an hour after working hard all day and all night; at that time, we noticed that the air was thick with smoke,” Pedro stated.
Pedro claims that after working for a full day to contain and put out the fire, the firefighters took a quick 25-minute break. The image unmistakably shows a smoke-filled setting.
On August 5, the temperature reached an all-time high of about 46 degrees Celsius. In addition to the about 160 troops who were called into action to assist with the evacuation attempts, some 13 planes circled above the fire and dropped water to stop it from spreading.
The picture went viral right away, with over 6,000 shares, 1,300 comments, and 9,000 user reactions at that point. Many folks expressed gratitude for the firefighters’ actions.
According to Manja Knofel, each firefighter is a hero in their unique manner. Another concurred that, in light of their amazing past effort, they merited “rest and praise.”
The Portuguese Prime Minister, Antonio Costa, stated that the firefighters had done all within their power. As a result, some of them sustained mortal wounds.
The police hoped that this year’s incident would not repeat the previous year’s incident.
