Whitney Houston’s mother has passed away, Cissy died at the age of 92. The star’s parent was under constant medical supervision.
Cissy Houston died Monday in a hospice, her family said. She had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. According to the late star’s mother’s daughter-in-law, she died surrounded by her family.
“Our hearts are filled with pain and sadness,” the relative shared. “Mama Cissy was a strong and remarkable person in our lives. A woman of deep faith and conviction who cared deeply about family, service, and community. Her 70-plus year career in music and entertainment will forever remain in our hearts. She will now rest in peace with her daughter Whitney and granddaughter Bobbi Kristina and other dear family members.”
Sissy was also a famous artist, she sang in the group Sweet Inspirations. One day, the group was noticed by Ben King and invited the girls to participate in the recording of the hits Stand by Me and Spanish Harlem. Whitney’s mother collaborated as a backing vocalist with many show business stars, including Elvis Presley. Sissy was in for even greater success when she began a solo career, thanks to which she received two Grammy awards.
