- This fellow Olympian has been a crucial part of his journey, offering both personal and professional support.
- But there’s more to their story than just athletic achievements. Here is their unique love journey together.
Noah Lyles has made a significant mark in track and field, earning multiple medals at World Championships and setting impressive personal records.
As Lyles geared up for the 2024 Paris Olympics Games, one significant person stood by his side, offering unwavering support and encouragement. This special person, Junelle Bromfield, is his girlfriend, who is also an Olympian.

Lyles stunned the world on August 4, 2024, when he won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The athlete came first at the men’s 100m final race on Stade de France’s purple track.
His win was unexpected since he had the slowest reaction time to the starting gun. Lyles was also still in seventh place out of the eight-man field halfway through the race.
In the final strides, Lyles closed the gap on Kishane Thompson, Fred Kerle, and Akani Simbine, executing a rare move for him, by dipping his shoulder at the finish line.

In this tight race, Lyles’ bold prediction and intense desire for the gold medal over the past three years came true. He secured his first Olympic gold medal with a personal best time of 9.79 seconds, edging out Thompson by five thousandths of a second.

After Lyles’ magnificent win, his girlfriend, Bromfield, took to Instagram to celebrate him, writing, “The double is alive ‼️❤️.” She accompanied the words with a picture of Lyles hugging her after he was announced as the winner of the men’s 100m final race.
Lyles and Bromfield have been in each other’s life since 2017. Bromfield admitted that she was the one who first reached out to Lyles via direct message on Instagram.
The two started chatting but Lyles was a bit cautious as he didn’t just want to give his number to a woman he had not yet met physically. However, after talking for a few weeks, Lyles felt that he should just give Bromfield his number.
After around four or five months, Lyles admitted to Bromfield that he liked her. As much as they realized their affection towards each other, Bromfield couldn’t get a day off from MVP, the track club, to come visit Lyles.
Lyles explained why he couldn’t see Bromfield, too. He said, “I couldn’t come visit because I’d get what? A few hours? Then I’d have to jump back on a plane to get to Monday practice.”
Neither, Bromfield and Lyles wanted to miss practice. Bromfield explained that she had Sundays off track but couldn’t go all the way to Miami for one day without risking missing practice on Monday.
In 2017 and 2018, the two remained friends and continued seeing other people as they couldn’t meet. Later in 2018, the two met in person but sadly, they both felt no spark between them. “It didn’t click at all. It was like, ‘No, let’s just be friends,'” said Bromfield.
The two then crossed paths in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympic Games, delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they were both involved with other people at the time.
By 2022, Lyles and Bromfield had remained close friends, and Lyles decided to ask her out on a second date after they both became single. The two started dating in the Summer of 2022.
Eventually, Bromfield moved to Florida, Lyles’ home state, to join a training group and live on her own. However, Lyles’ mother, Keisha Caine, stepped in to offer support.
She drove Bromfield 40 minutes each way to practice every day and even invited her to stay at her home. Bromfield was extremely grateful for the support she got from Caine.
The two have shared what finally got them attracted to each other. Bromfield said that she was attracted to Lyles’ brutal honesty. Meanwhile, Lyles noted that hearing such sentiments reassured him that Bromfield was the one for him.
He mentioned an occasion when Bromfield said she initially hesitated to get too involved with him. This hesitation stemmed from Bromfield’s fear that she might become consumed by Lyles’ persona on the track and lose sight of who he truly was off the field.
“I already liked you, but that’s a solidified answer of, like, ‘OK, we’re going to grow old together, and it’s going to be forever, and it’s going to be constant. Hearing things like that is, like, yeah. I’d want a woman like that to raise my kids,'” gushed Lyles.
Lyles and Bromfield, who love to dance together, have also managed to create a good balance in their personal and professional life. As much as they support each other, during practice, they remain cordial such that one wouldn’t even know the duo is dating or even know each other.
Bromfield has had her wins on the track field just like Lyles. The 26-year-old track and field star won bronze for Jamaica in the 4x400m women’s relay at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
She shared the win on Instagram writing partly, “I thank god that all i am today is by hard work and not accidental ‼️ It might have taken me longer to get to where im going and somebody might get there before me, but i promise you when i get there im not going anywhere‼️”
Bromfield, who in 2022 competed in her first individual event on a national senior team and proudly made it to the finals, added on the caption, “Better things ahead. I AM A OLYMPIAN 😛😅.”
Bromfield is also competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The athlete will be taking part in the 400m and the 4 x 400m relay. Lyles was excited when he learned that his girlfriend would be competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The supportive boyfriend posted on X, “THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!!! @JunelleBromfiel IS GOING TO THE OLYMPICS IN THE 400m!!!!”
On August 6, 2024, Bromfield shared a photo with her eyes closed ready to run, and captioned it, “On to the next round 🥳 Embracing my natural beauty, NO MAKEUP, NO WIG, NO FILTERS 100 % melanin.”
Bromfield, who has been running track since she was eight years old has dealt with loss and was fortunate to have the support of Lyles and his mother.
She lost her mom, Sandra Farquharson to cervical cancer. Lyles, who is big on therapy, motivated Bromfield to find a therapist, an experience that helped her deal with survivors’ guilt.
Bromfield and Lyles have also stood by each other as they dealt with Jamaican Twitter, now known as X. American 400m runner, Noah Williams said users on X from Jamaica talk a lot about Lyles.
Williams described Jamaican on X, as “the most toxic world you can get in track and field. Drama-filled and toxic … like shots being thrown, accusations being made.”
Lyles agreed, noting that Bromfield’s Jamaican background and her training at MVP have got him dragged into the drama within the Jamaican camp for at least five years.
“There is a lot of times I make references about Jamaicans but I am not trying to go back and forth, like I know information that other people don’t,” shared Lyles.
Jamaicans didn’t take Lyles’ comments positively as they shared their opinions on TikTok. One user told Bromfield, “Girl your man chat too much.”
Another user told Bromfield that people have been saying she was sharing too much with Lyles about what goes on among Jamaican athletes. “Including their issues either with injuries or with each other at camp,” the user added.
Other users bashed Lyles, saying, “l just think u need to apologize to the jamaican public and don’t hype n the public.” However, fans of Lyles wrote, “Nobody could neverrrr make me hate u ur such an inspiration 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.”
Another fan also supported Bromfield and asked people not to criticize her so much. “That is why other people can say we bash our athletes too much. leave the Girl alone,” the user said.
Noah Lyles and Bromfield seem not to pay attention to the negativity directed their way. They are thriving in their personal and professional lives.
The couple went Instagram official in December 2022 and have since been sharing pictures of each other. On December 3, 2023, Bromfield accompanied Lyles to the USATF Night of Legends celebration.
The athlete took home the Male Athlete of the Year Award on this occasion. The next day, Lyles and Bromfield shared images of their red carpet-date night on social media.
In August 2023, Bromfield took to social media again to mark their first anniversary with a sweet message on Instagram. She wrote, ” 🥂Cheers to 7 years of friendship 🫂, 6 months of dating 🍽️, 1 year of being your partner 👩🏿❤️💋👨🏾, And to forever loving you ❤️🙏🏿. #1yearanniversary.”
Many fans adore Bromfield and Lyles’ deep connection and love. One fan commented, “Can you imagine their future children. Be fast kids. I love this.”
Fans have also praised Bromfield’s beauty when she looked gorgeous in a white suit next to her beau. A fan wrote, “You are so beautiful 😍😍😍,” while another admirer said, “Too nice! I had to look twice 😍🥹.”
Bromfield and Lyles went from friends to lovers and are now building their personal and professional lives with each other’s support. The two are smitten with each other and Lyles admitted that this is his best relationship ever.
