Insecurities about our physical appearance are common, and while height is mostly determined by genetics and considered unchangeable, a woman went to extreme lengths to alter hers.
Theresia Fischer, a model from Germany, spent a whopping £130,000 on a radical surgical procedure to extend her legs by 5.5 inches using metal rods, ultimately making her six feet tall. Unfortunately, she now regrets her decision to undergo the surgery.
Her choice was heavily influenced by persistent comments from her ex-husband regarding her looks. In a recent interview, the 31-year-old model expressed remorse and explained that her ex-husband had pressured her to change her body, despite her initial satisfaction with her height. She was unaware of such procedures at the time.
Theresia disclosed that her ex-husband constantly told her, “Theresia, you know I like taller women. I would really prefer this. You could grow up to 14 centimeters taller. You can’t achieve this without me. You need my approval.” These repeated remarks led her to believe that she was inadequate without his approval.
She confessed, “I’ve never experienced this kind of pressure before because I was always content with my body. I now feel ashamed for agreeing to a procedure that I regret.”
Theresia has also experienced a significant amount of negative feedback online. She said, “While I’m now satisfied with how my legs look, I am receiving a lot of hate on the internet. It’s very hurtful.”
