Courtney Love has been slammed by Taylor Swift fans after delivering a brutal statement against the musician.
The ‘Celebrity Skin’ musician, who rose to fame with her rock band Hole, has just launched a new BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds series titled: Courtney Love’s Women.
According to the radio show’s synopsis, the 59-year-old singer “shares the soundtrack to her life as she reflects on the women in music who have shaped her”.
Despite hosting a seemingly positive series, Love did not hold back when voicing her opinion on some of the world’s biggest female stars in a new interview with the Evening Standard.

Speaking to the publication about the pop superstar Taylor Swift, Love made it clear that she “positively hates the idea” of the ‘Karma’ songstress.
“Taylor is not important,” she remarked. “She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.”
Unsurprisingly, the grunge star’s comments have not gone down well with Swift’s super fans, as one user accused Love of “minimizing and belittling women in music”.
Another criticized: “Courtney Love Who looking for attention so I’m falling for it but to slam two of the most important artists of our time #TaylorSwift & #Madonna in one article is just pure jealousy, attention seeking & way off track! They are both icons that have shaped pop culture, art & music!”
A third remarked: “My bias aside I’d really like to know what she deems interesting because I don’t get how an artist who’s capable of switching up their image and genre across different phases of her career and pioneering one of the most celebrated tours of all time can be ‘not interesting’.”
A fourth added: “When you’re so irrelevant that you have to talk bad about other artists at the age of 60… embarrassing.”
Many also pointed out that Love seemingly liked the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer enough to wish her a happy birthday on Facebook just a few years ago.
“Happy belated birthday @taylorswift, aspirational huge role model for many young women & occasional hair twin / neighbor,” she penned in December 2021 alongside a photo of the pair.

The ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ hitmaker is not the only artist Love has delivered a scornful verdict against as she also opened up about Lana Del Rey, saying she “should really take seven years off”.
“I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song,” she said of the ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer. “Up until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ I thought she was great.”
Despite not liking the 38-year-old’s music, the mom-of-one confessed that she had to stop listening to Del Rey while recording her new album because it was “influencing [her] too much”.
The candidness did not stop there as Love – who was married to the late Kurt Cobain – also came for Madonna and Beyoncé, who recently went number one with her country-infused album, Cowboy Carter.
“I mean, I like the idea of Beyoncé doing a country record because it’s about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much,” she said. “As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music.”

Many people have denounced Love for being notoriously vocal over the years but the backlash doesn’t seem to faze the ‘Malibu’ singer as she admitted in her interview that she is “completely disagreeable” and is “never going to apologize for that”.
“I always wanted to be known as a b***h,” she said, adding, “Being liked was never my thing.”
