However, we sometimes overlook the months of preparation that go into making our favorite movies. On occasion, the behind-the-scenes happenings during a film shoot are just as dramatic or amazing as the finished product. Fortunately, a few performers are willing to share them with us.

In his autobiography, Will Smith stated that he fell in love with Stockard Channing, his co-star, while they were making the 1993 comedy-drama Six Degrees of Separation and that he continued to stay in character off set as well. Smith, who was just married, had just given birth to a son, and he kept his connection with the actress—who is 24 years older than him—professional.

#2. The Notebook set proved to be a hostile place for Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

The 2004 movie The Notebook appears to have started off difficult for Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, despite the fact that they are the leads in one of the most well-known and passionate love tales ever. In fact, the director of the picture recalls that one day “they really were not getting along on set, really not.” Even if McAdams were to be replaced by another actress, Gosling had inquired about the necessary steps. That’s right, from 2005 to 2007, the two actually dated.

#3. A famous scene on set gave her a panic attack.

In a famous scene from the 2011 love movie Crazy, Stupid, Love, Emma Stone was lifted into the air by Ryan Gosling’s character in a picture-perfect sequence enough to make anyone’s heart skip a beat. The sequence called for Stone to have “an internalized phobia of being lifted over someone’s head,” which was precisely the problem.

The actress revealed that incident brought back memories of being dropped by her childhood gymnastics instructor, who broke both of her arms. Fortunately, she overcame it, and as a result, this incident became crucial to the story.

#4. She struggled throughout Friends because of how she looked.

We fell in love with Friends’ Phoebe Buffay because of her quirky beliefs and upbeat demeanor. However, Lisa Kudrow, an actress, has talked candidly about her experiences on set, stating, “Fittings were not fun.” The 5’6″ actor claimed that because she was “larger” and had a “different” body type from her co-stars, she occasionally felt uneasy dressing like her role.

#5. She was reminded of her “hardest time” in life by the Friends reunion.

After 17 years apart, we can only image how sentimental and emotional it must have been for the six core Friends characters to rejoin on stage. Furthermore, Jennifer Aniston acknowledged that having to “time travel” was difficult. In addition, the actress who played the outgoing Rachel Green for ten years disclosed that she had experienced a startling flashback to “the hardest time” in her life, which had to have resurrected some old scars.

#6. None of Anne Hathaway’s co-stars were aware that she was expecting throughout the filming.

Being pregnant and having a large crew around you on set is definitely not easy. However, Anne Hathaway disclosed that while she was still in her first trimester, she kept her second pregnancy a secret from everyone. She continued, claiming that when filming The Witches in 2020, she only told a select few individuals that she was expecting her second child. “The costume still fit so I didn’t feel the need to tell anybody,” she clarified.
