The multi-million dollar legal battle became known as the ‘Wars of Rosés’, and might all come down to one single payment

A multi-million dollar legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could all come down to one payment.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt back in 2016, with the pair since becoming locked in a legal struggle over a $500 million winery that they bought in France.

The pair’s legal wrangling over the winery ended up being dubbed ‘The Wars of the Rosés’, and has become an incredibly complicated and drawn out dispute.

Now though, it could all come down to a single payment.

When the pair first took ownership of the estate, Pitt owned a majority stake of 60 percent and Jolie owned 40 percent.

But Pitt later transferred 10 percent ownership to Jolie, just before the two stars got married in 2014.

This meant that their ownership of the winery became 50/50, so they were equal partners in it.

The transfer of ownership was done with a payment of one euro ($1.08).

Payments like these are common practice when property is being transferred over.

The payment of one euro or one dollar, or whatever currency it happens to be, is just meant to show that money has changed hands over the property when its ownership changed.

Quora says: “When a property is sold for $1, it is usually a symbolic amount that signifies a transfer of ownership, often within a family. This type of transaction is typically considered a gift, and the sale is perceived as a gift for tax purposes.”

After the pair divorced, Jolie sold her 50 percent share of the vineyard to Stoli Group, while Pitt hung on to his.

But this is where that tiny one Euro payment suddenly starts to look a whole lot more imposing.

You see, Pitt’s lawyers are now claiming that when that ten percent share of the winery was transferred over, Jolie never paid up her one Euro.

Court filings for Pitt claim that the one euro payment was never made, and add that it wasn’t a fair value of the holdings anyway.

Now, Pitt’s lawyers are calling for the sale to Stoli to be voided, arguing that Jolie only owned 40 percent of the winery not 50, so it wasn’t hers to sell.

Stoli have said that they have not had any problems, saying in a statement: “We are not aware of any issues related to our purchase of 50% of Miraval nor do we have any concerns.”

She shares Maddox, 22, Pax, 19, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, with ex-husband Brad Pitt.

The mother-of-six said: “I was 26 when I became a mother. My entire life changed. Having children saved me — and taught me to be in this world differently.

“I think, recently, I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them.

“They’re better than me because you want your children to be.

“Of course, I’m the mother, and hopefully that safe place for them and that stability.

“But I’m also the one that they laugh at — and I see them taking over so many different aspects of our family.”

Jolie says that she tries to let her kids be themselves and lead their own lives.

“My kids would roll their eyes if they were here,” she said, referencing her tattoos.

“I was quite dark when I was young. I was a punk, not the popular kid — going to thrift stores, cutting things up, burning little teeny cigarette holes into things: That was me as a teenager, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

“Maybe that part of me wants to push back.

“Sometimes the way you dress says, ‘Don’t mess with me — I’ve got my armor on’.

“But I want a woman to feel safe enough that she can be soft.”

She added: “I don’t tell the kids how to dress. Even when they were little, I just put things in front of them.

“Nobody has to go anywhere if they don’t want to, and if they don’t want to dress up, they don’t have to … I want them to be their own people.”

People have been left baffled as they are just realising that Angelina Jolie once kissed her brother.

Despite the impact of House of the Dragon in getting audiences to cheer on inter-sibling intimacy, fans are still baffled by a re-emerged image of Jolie and her brother.

Angeline Jolie Being In Ukraine Has Divided Opinion

The infamous incident saw the movie star laying one on her brother, James Haven, in 2000 at the Oscars.

Jolie, who was 24-years-old at the time, had picked up an Oscar for her performance in Girl Interrupted.

In her acceptance speech, she paid tribute to her brother, who had accompanied her to the ceremony.

A flustered Jolie said: “I’m in shock, and I’m so in love with my brother right now.

“He just held me and said he loved me, and I know he’s so happy for me. And, um, thank you for that.”

People had a lot of questions about the incident, but both Jolie and Haven have clarified the incident, with Jolie even calling the response to it ‘pathetic’.

She told Entertainment Weekly: “My parents really loved that moment, and that’s what will always matter.”

In 2007, Haven told the Daily Mail: “I did not give Angie a French kiss. It was something simple and lovely.

“She was about to go off to Mexico to finish filming Original Sin with Antonio Banderas. I congratulated her on the Oscar win and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

“It was snapped and became a big thing.”

Now, as it happens these days, the resurfaced photo has got Redditors questioning what a weird time the 2000s really was, finding it hard to make sense of the infamous sibling moment.

“Can somebody explain what’s going on with Angelina Jolie smooching her brother like that?”

“No, I don’t think anyone really can explain,” one confused user wrote.

Another surmised: “She did it for shock value. Totally performative,” while another agreed chiming in: “Performative, like the weird leg-angle thing she did at that awards show.”

It’s not the only time that Jolie has raised eyebrows on the red carpet. She also wore a vial of her husband Billy Bob Thornton’s blood round her neck.

Speaking of the incident in 2014, Thornton said: “She thought it would be interesting and romantic if we took a little razorblade and sliced our fingers, smeared a little blood on these lockets and you wear it around your neck just like you wear your son or daughter’s baby hair in one.”

The 105-year-old neighbor lived in a $40 million house until he died.

There is no questioning that a lot of folks would dream of being rich and famous, though that is not exactly within the realms of possibility.

The next best thing is perhaps living that lifestyle for a day or more, and one elderly man got to experience just that thanks to Brad Pitt.

The legendary actor allowed his elderly neighbor to live in his $40 million house rent free until he passed away.

Whilst he plays heroes on the big screen, Pitt was seemingly a real-life good guy too.

Pitt didn’t intentionally set out to become a landlord when he bought the lavish home back in 1994 – but his later gesture certainly warmed a lot of people’s hearts.

The Mr and Mrs Smith actor paid just $1.7 million when he purchased the property from Elvira star Cassandra Peterson.

After spending the better part of three decades at the residence, Pitt noticed that the area was becoming increasingly built up.

It’s then that he took pity on his elderly neighbour, as Peterson recalled in an interview with People: “I think there were like 22 houses that were contiguous to the edge of the property. And every time they came up he bought one.”

Peterson claimed one of those properties belonged to an elderly man in his early nineties and Pitt ended up striking up a deal with him that allowed the senior to stay in the residency.

“He was very, very kind to the husband. His wife passed away and the husband, John, lived there,” she continued.

“I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.”

Joking about the fact that the arrangement continued slightly longer than expected, Peterson added: “It was kind of funny because John lived to be 105.”

She continued, saying that John ‘just kept living forever,’ before saying: “I imagine Brad was thinking well, you know, he can live there till he dies, which might be any minute now.”

Peterson, who became Pitt’s neighbor after selling her property to him, shared her own experiences with Pitt throughout the years.

“I go past Brad’s garage and he’s in there wearing only sweatpants. He’s got on boxing gloves and he is punching a bag. I swear I almost fainted.

“I remember he goes, ‘Hey, how are you?’ and I’m like, ‘Huh?’ I couldn’t talk. I was turning red. I felt like I was fainting.

“He’s just so stunningly, stunningly handsome — and nice, to top it off,” she concluded.

Ironically, the Fight Club actor didn’t intend to become a landlord when he bought the lavish home back in 1994.

Most of us wonder what it’s like to live like the rich and famous, but very few of us find out.

One 105-year-old man got to experience the A-List lifestyle, by living at Brad Pitt’s $39 million house until he died – completely rent-free! (Yes, you read that right!)

Ironically though, the Mr and Mrs Smith actor driver didn’t intentionally set out to become a landlord when he bought the lavish home back in 1994.

Throughout the years, she described Pitt as ‘always kind and sweet’, and even opened up about the star’s at-home preparation for one of his most iconic roles throughout the years – Tyler Durden from Fight Club.

As the woman was out on a walk with her dogs, she remembered spotting Pitt, and let’s just say he had quite an effect on her.

She recalled: “I go past Brad’s garage and he’s in there wearing only sweatpants. He’s got on boxing gloves and he is punching a bag. I swear I almost fainted.
