Bryce Dallas Howard, who stars in the movie Argylle, recently shared in an interview how her dad, Ron Howard, and mom, Cheryl Howard, didn’t allow her to start acting when she was young. Unlike her famous dad, they were strict about not supporting child actors. Instead, they encouraged her to gain work experience in different jobs.

When Bryce was a teenager, her parents allowed her to work in other industries. She became a waitress, worked in a deli, and even got a waiver from her parents to be on a payroll at the age of 14. She worked in various jobs like an assembly line at a factory, babysitting, and dog walking.

Looking back, Bryce is grateful for her parents’ decision because it took her a while to make a living as an actor. She went on to attend the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, pursuing her passion for acting. Bryce has had success in movies like The Village, Spider-Man 3, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Help, and the Jurassic World series.

Aside from acting, Bryce has also directed projects like the documentary Dads and episodes of popular shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. She enjoys a great relationship with her father Ron, and they often discuss movies together. Bryce appreciates having family members in the industry, and she even shadowed her dad during the making of the 2018 Star Wars film Solo, convincing him to let her be part of the crew she had just worked with on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
