Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to launch two new series on Netflix, showing them enjoying their interests and hobbies.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have revealed that they have two non-fiction projects in development, building on the recent launch of Meghan’s lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Announcing the exciting news on their Archewell website, the royal couple disclosed that Harry’s series will offer a deep dive into the world of polo, specifically focusing on the prestigious US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida.

The series promises viewers “unprecedented access to the world of professional polo” and aims to unveil the grit and passion behind the sport.

Meghan, on the other hand, will spearhead a series delving into lifestyle topics such as gardening and cooking. This move is expected to merge with her brand, American Riviera Orchard.

These ventures are part of the groundbreaking deal struck in 2020 between Archewell Productions, the couple’s production arm, and Netflix, reportedly valued at a staggering $100 million, per the Daily Mail.

The first series featuring Meghan will celebrate the pleasures of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship, which will give viewers a closer look into the private life of the star.

The show will be produced by Sony Pictures Television’s The Intellectual Property Corporation, renowned for their work on hit shows like Hulu’s The D’Amelio Show and A&E’s Leah Remini: Scientology & the Aftermath.

Meanwhile, the polo-focused series, a passion project close to Prince Harry’s heart, will be produced by Boardwalk Pictures, the creators behind Netflix successes like Chef’s Table and Sex, Love & Goop.

This series will offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the glamorous world of polo, showcasing what it takes to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

Prince Harry’s love for polo is well-documented, having played the sport since childhood. Alongside his commitment to polo, the Duke has also been actively involved in charitable endeavors related to the sport, including participating in the Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup to raise funds for HIV/AIDS causes.

The announcement of these Netflix series follows hot on the heels of Meghan’s unveiling of her luxury lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which a source told the Daily Mail would feature “all the things that are close to her heart.”

The source spoke about Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship, stating: “They are both working on their own things. They are fully supportive of each other’s concepts and ideas, but they are different from one another, they have different meanings.”
