Now as reports reveal, Archie and Lilibet now go by Archie Sussex and Lilibet Sussex, respectively. A nod to Harry and Meghan’s title, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. According to Yahoo!, the decision to use this new surname come after King Charles ascended to the throne.

And while several people on the internet have come to find the name change as a dig to the family Harry left behind in England, Yahoo! reports that this isn’t the first time a change like this has occurred. In fact, Harry used the last name Wales while in the army, instead of Mountbatten-Windsor as well.

“That’s a big deal for any family,” an insider reportedly commented. “It represents their unification and it’s a proud moment.”

This update comes a month after a new book written by royal insider Robert Hardman claimed Queen Elizabeth was allegedly livid that Harry and Meghan named their daughter after her. Lilibet was the nickname Prince Philip used to call the late Queen.

Harry is reportedly angrier now lamenting that he and Megan asked the Queen for her permission to name their daughter after her and she blessed their decision. He believes this is part of the smear campaign against them, saying these claims have only come out now that the Queen can no longer defend herself.

Prince Harry Admits He Doesn’t Know Why People Call Him Harry

It can be argued that Prince Harry is one of the world’s most well-known royals. For many people, simply mentioning the name Harry will trigger them to think about the redheaded royal, so many people adore.

But did you know Harry isn’t the Prince’s birth name? And no, neither is Harrison, which many presumed after Harry and Meghan named their firstborn son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Believe it or not, Prince Harry’s birth name is Henry Charles Albert David. And while talking with a 4-year-old named Henry Waines via a video call, Prince Harry admitted he’s not quite sure how his nickname came to be.

“My name is Henry. Well, everyone calls me Harry. I have no idea why,” the Duke of Sussex admitted to the tiny child.

During that same call, People reports, Harry also gave an update on how his and Meghan’s two children are doing.

“You sound just like my son Archie, with that little squeaky voice. I love it,” Harry told Henry, who then asked how 4-year-old Archie and 1-year-old Lilibet are doing.

“Archie is very, very busy. And Lili is learning to use her voice, which is great,” the Prince revealed. The world only got their first and truly only glance at Lilibet on her first birthday which coincided with her great-grandmother’s jubilee.

And the public hasn’t seen much of Archie either, especially since the family of four now lives a much quieter life in California. Harry also revealed that he and Meghan now have three dogs, alongside Archie and Lilibet.

“I tell you what, we all need a dog that keeps us calm. I’ve got three in this house now. So, we basically have five children,” Prince Harry joked.

“I’ve got a black Labrador called Pula, a rescue beagle called Guy. And we got another rescue beagle called Mia. And between the three of them, they charge around chasing squirrels and causing all sorts of problems to us, every single day. But they are also emotional support dogs 100% — when they’re behaving.”

It’s unclear if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will ever choose to return to social media where they often provided updates on their life as a family. The couple deleted their Instagram after leaving the royal family for a life in America.
