Sporting his trademark glasses, Carlson pondered, “Perhaps it’s the allure of these sexy glasses? Who’s to say? Speculation is all we can do.”

In a segment playfully named “Jennifer’s Nightmare,” Carlson invited guest Trace Gallagher to delve into Lawrence’s statements, as well as her discussion with Vogue regarding familial disagreements on politics, particularly with her relatives in Louisville, Kentucky.

Carlson, with a chuckle, responded, “So, she claims to have ‘nightmares’ about us. That’s what they’re terming it now, ‘nightmares.’ Well, we’re flattered. I suppose it must be the allure of the sexy glasses… Can’t help it if they dream about you.”

In her Vogue interview, Lawrence shared her efforts to reconcile with her father and other relatives post the 2016 election. She expressed the challenges of understanding different perspectives, stating, “I’ve toiled hard over the past five years to forgive my dad and my family, to comprehend: It’s different. The information they are getting is different. Their life is different. I’ve attempted to move past it, and I genuinely can’t. I’m sorry I’m just unleashing, but I can’t engage with people who aren’t political anymore. You live in the United States of America. You have to be political. It’s too crucial. Politics are causing harm.”

While careful not to disparage her family, Lawrence acknowledged the shared sentiment among many, questioning how parents could raise daughters and deny them equality.

Recalling a past on-air critique from September 2017, Carlson fondly remembered scrutinizing Lawrence’s comments on climate change. He humorously commented on the tendency of the wealthy and famous to become “sillier and more out of touch,” coining the term “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
