Tiger Woods had a pretty eventful day two at the 2024 Masters.

Day two at Augusta National was definitely one to remember for Tiger Woods after he broke the record for most consecutive cuts made at the Masters with his 24th and ended up giving a fan an experience they’ll never forget (or will never remember) thanks to a rogue shot that ended up in a crowd of spectators.

Have a look at the full clip below:

Footage from the moment, which was posted to X (formerly Twitter) showed the ball appearing to hit one of the patrons, with the male fan falling to the floor upon contact.

Other people went to check on the onlooker and much to the relief of everyone involved, there were no serious injuries.

The moment swiftly went viral, with one X user writing: “Bro Tiger Woods just knocked someone out at The Masters.”

“The number one reason why you’re not supposed to be in front of the ball,” another added, with a third joking: “Gotta play the ball where it lies, Tiger.”

It was a busy day for the 48-year-old as he had to finish five holes from round one after bad weather called a halt to play early on Thursday.

However, after the rogue shot Woods still managed to par the hole and had a successful day, finishing one over par after hitting 72, which makes him still in line to win his record sixth green jacket.

Speaking of the day, he said: “It means I have a chance going into the weekend. I’m here. I have a chance to win the golf tournament. I got my two rounds in. I just need some food and some caffeine, and I’ll be good to go.”

Woods, who last won the Masters in 2019, also added: I’m right there. I’m only eight [shots] back as of right now (at the end of his round leader, Bryson DeChambeau, was still on the course and at 7-under).

“I don’t think anyone is going to run off and hide right now, but it’s really bunched. The way the ball is moving on the greens, chip shots are being blown, it’s all you want in a golf course today,” he added.

It’s also been a while since Woods has completed a full 72-hole full-field tournament, with the New York Post reporting that he’s only managed to complete one in the past two years.

“Yeah, I’m tired,” he said. “I’ve been out for a while, competing, grinding. It’s been a long 23 holes, a long day. But… I really did some good fighting today, and we’ve got a chance.”

When asked before the tournament how proud he is of the consecutive cut streak, he emphasized the importance of consistency.

“It’s consistency, it’s longevity, and it’s an understanding of how to play this golf course,” he said, as per the outlet. “That’s one of the reasons why you see players that are in their 50s and 60s make cuts here, or players in their late 40s have runs at winning the event, just the understanding of how to play it.”
